Shoes

Irish dance shoes may be purchased from a variety of online retailers. All dancers will begin in softshoes and will add hardshoe once they reach level 2. Shoes are not required unless a dancer plans to perform or compete, but many dancers prefer to have them for practice. Please note that hardshoes can scratch and scrape certain types of flooring. Below is a list of my favorite beginner shoe retailers. Please note that shoe sizes are based on UK sizes. Please email the company you wish to buy from to see if they will provide a size conversion chart or if they will take a foot tracing.

Beginner Boys may wear lace up jazz shoes which can be found at Payless, Academy, or any dance shoes store.
